দ্বিতীয় বিশ্বযুদ্ধের পর ইউরেপে সংঘঠিত শিল্প বিপ্লব সভ্যতার উন্নয়নে ব্যাপক ভূমিকা রাখে। বর্তমান বিশ্বে তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তি শিল্প বিপ্লব কেও পিছনে ফেলে উল্লেখযোগ্য ঘটনা হিসেবে বিশ্বকে তাক লাগিয়ে দিয়েছে। তথ্য ও যোগাযোগ প্রযুক্তির নজীরবিহীন এ উন্নয়নে গোটা বিশ্ব আজ গ্লোবাল ভিলেজে পরিনত হয়েছে। এ প্রযুক্তি দূর কে এনেছে কাছে, পর কে করেছে আপন আর অসাধ্য কে সাধন করেছে। তাই তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তি বর্তমান বিশ্বেও সকল প্রকার উন্নয়ন কর্মকান্ডের মূল হাতিয়ার। একবিংশ শতাব্দীর চ্যালেঞ্জ মোকাবিলায় বিশ্ব পরিমন্ডলে নিজ অবস্থান সুদূঢ় ও উজ্জ্বল করতে সরকার বদ্ধপরিকর। তাই শুরু হয়েছে এর অগ্রযাত্রা।
তথ্য ও প্রযুক্তির এ অগ্রযাত্রায় সরকারের কর্মসূচীর সাথে একাত্বতা প্রকাশ করে বাদশাহ্ ফয়সল ইন্স্টিটিউট (স্কুল এন্ড কলেজ) একটি সমৃদ্ধ কলেজ ম্যানেজমেন্ট, সফটওয়ার ও ওয়েবসাইট চালু করায় আমি বিমুগ্ধ এবং গর্বিত। অত্র কলেজ এর বোর্ড অব গভর্নরস এর চেয়ারম্যান হিসেবে এ কার্যক্রমে সরাসরি সম্পৃক্ত সকল কে জানাই আন্তরিক মোবারকবাদ। আগামী দিনগুলোতেও প্রযুক্তির আধুনিকায়নের এ ধারা অব্যাহত থাকবে বলে আমি বিশ্বাস করি।
